Every time you buy from us, your purchase supports fair trade abroad, living wages at home, and environmental sustainability.

Fair Trade Abroad

Artisan wedding rings connects you directly to the producer and the artisan; whether that be in the mining of a gemstone or the creation of a ring. We are fully committed to creating economic relationships that are truly beneficial through fair and equitable trade.

We offer a broad assortment of gemstones that are ethically mined and purchased directly from the small scale miners which are and could be classified as fair trade. We provide information on the sourcing of these stones which we can confidently trace directly through our supply chain.

Note: (Our wedding rings are made in the US by American artisans and therefore do not qualify as fair trade.)

Living Wages at Home

For our vision and contribution to the local community, received the 2008 Excellence In Business Award, by the City of Santa Fe.

In 2006, we were named on of Santa Fe's top five outstanding businesses. Read why our local press says we have "inner shine." Reflective Images entry level pay is 30% higher than Santa Fe's, "Living Wage" program, which is one of the most progressive in the country. Employees, after a year of work, receive a 6% company contribution to their own retirement fund. Fifty percent of medical benefits are covered. Year end bonuses average over 5% of annual salary. Three weeks of vacation, sick pay and national holidays are offered as well. A wellness benefit matches employee funds up to $75 per month for fitness or any wellness activity.

All employees work on flex time. Decisions are often made on consensus. The workshop itself is beautifully spacious with art on the walls. The office's general energy is emotionally supportive. All are respected and decision making is not top down or bottom up, but rather dynamically creative and circular.

Since its founding 1995, only three employees have voluntarily left the company.

Environmental Sustainability An average pair of wedding bands from non-recycled metal results in tons of waste. If the couple were to put the tailings in their bedroom, they would measure six feet wide, six feet high and ten feet long!

We are the first company in the jewelry sector to manufacture nationally and internationally, using fair trade and 100% recycled precious metals.

Every single ring on this site is either made from recycled precious metal or fair trade precious metal.

In our studio, we have state of the art ventilation systems on all our soldering stations, each individually controlled by our jewelers in order to conserve energy. We also have many safety features in place. We use non-harmful chemicals and solders as much as we can in the day to day manufacturing of our jewelry. We dehydrate and filter our waste fluids from our fabrication processes.

We pay a premium to purchase "green power" from Public Service of New Mexico. We also offset our carbon use by contributing to Wild Earth Guardians, a New Mexico environmental organization that does ecological restoration of riparian areas.

We recycle our metals, cardboard, cans and glass. We use 100% recycled office paper and toilet paper. We use compact fluorescent lighting everywhere except in our gallery. Green areas are also an important element in environmental stewardship. In front of our office we removed a ten by thirty foot monolithic concrete slab and planted a xeroscape garden. We constructed a small central courtyard and garden where we enjoy gathering for lunch, break times and special occasions.

We have invested a great deal in making our working space beautiful for all of us to enjoy. Our studio, which we remodeled in 2001, is light, colorful and full of art. We are constantly looking for opportunities to create a more comfortable workplace along with an ever lower environmental impact.
