Should you choose 14K or 18K white gold wedding rings?
Many jewelers will encourage you to purchase 18K white gold wedding bands, mainly because they are more expensive than 14K rings. However, we recommend 14K rings for those who are choosing white gold. White gold is created by using specific white alloys which are mixed in with the yellow gold. The more white alloy, the more whiteness in the metal. The 14K white gold wedding rings are less expensive and more durable as well.
We use nickel to make our yellow gold into white gold. Upon request, you can choose palladium, though it can be more expensive, depending upon the market price. We can also make designer white gold wedding rings entirely out of palladium which is very white, and appears like platinum. We do not use rhodium plating because the process is not permanent and it is also highly toxic to the environment.
