Swirl Engagement Rings and Wedding Rings by Helen Chantler
Swirl: This motif originated in what is now Italy, Hungary and Germany 2300 years ago. The design it resembles is strikingly contemporary. It suggests the curl of a plant's stem or root, or the path of a river. No one can be certain as to what it means, but to us, it seems to symbolize the fertility and fecundity. The wave-like pattern, with its ease and curl, also represents that ability to reside in the eternal flow.
