Metals used in Helen Chantler's Rings

As you see from the photo below, Helen's rings can be made with a wide variety of options. She works primarily with 18K yellow gold and sterling silver. In her bi-metal rings, the knot work design in the center of the ring can be either gold soldered on sterling silver, or plain sterling silver. Some designs are available in a borderless style but most designs have borders. For bordered rings, the borders can be gold or sterling silver, smooth or striated. For the gold over silver designs, the ring shank is sterling silver. She also designs some rings in solid gold. The knotwork designs on Helen’s rings are continuous and have no sizing band.

Here is a photograph showing most of these metal combinations:

Except for #7, which is solid gold, the rings above have a sterling silver shank.

The background behind the motif in the center of Helen's rings with sterling silver shanks come to you blackened, with an permanent antique finish. Helen does this to increase the contrast behind knot work, maximizing the elegance in the design.
